Impact of Putter Design on Golf Ball Motion - 2024

Overview:
In this project, I explored how different putter designs affect the motion of a golf ball. The goal was to understand the physics behind the interaction between the putter and the golf ball, focusing on factors such as angle, force, and the material of the putter.


Key Concepts Explored:

  • Kinematics and dynamics of motion
  • Impact force and momentum transfer
  • Material science in sports equipment


What I Learned:
This project enhanced my understanding of how subtle design changes can influence performance in sports. I learned how to apply principles of mechanics to analyze and predict the motion of objects, as well as the importance of material properties in optimizing equipment design.


Outcome:
The findings showed that putter design impacts the ball's trajectory and speed, providing insights that could be applied to improve golf equipment for players of varying skill levels.
